Set Email in iPhone

For those users who know how to setup an email account and just need to settings you can find this information here.

Open “Settings” and press the “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” tab.

On the next page press the “Add Account…” tab.

Once on the Add Account page select the “Other” option at the bottom of the list.

From this “Other” page select the “Add Mail Account” option.

The next step will be to enter your email account information:

Name: Your full name
Address: the email address you are trying to add
Password: The password you were provided with for your address
Description: This will default to the domain name of your email address, but you can change this to whatever you like.

Once you have entered your information press the “Next” button. Once you have done this the iPhone will verify your account and then send you to the next screen.

On the next screen ensure that the POP button is selected.

Then move down the page and fill out the Mail Server information.

Incoming Mail Server

Host Name: pop.sageinternet.com
User Name: Your email address
Password: The same password that you entered previously (this might be entered already for you)
Outgoing Mail Server
Host Name: sendmail.sageinternet.com
User Name: Your email address
Password: The same password that you entered previously (says optional but add it).

Once you have entered this information press the “Save” button and the account will get verified. Once this process is complete you may see an error message as shown below.

If you see this press the “Yes” button to continue. Once this has been done you should be returned to the “Mail, Contacts, Calendar” page. If you encounter any errors at this point you may have entered a piece of information incorrectly.

The next step will be to make some adjustments to the advanced settings.

From the “Mail, Contacts, Calendar” page press the tab of the email account you just set up (will be identified by the description that was created in the earlier step). Scroll to the bottom of the page to find the Outgoing Mail Server section and duible check the settings:

Press the “SMTP” button.

And then click on the Primary Server button.

Compare the settings shown below and ensure that your settings match. The main change will be that you will have to change the port number to 2525.

Next you will need to go back to the main page and press on the “Advance” tab as shown below.

Once you are on the Advanced page ensure that you settings are similar to those below:

The most important part is to ensure that the “Use SSL” is set to OFF, that the “Authentication” is set to Password and that the “Server Port” is set to 110. You can change the “Deleted Messages” and “Delete from server” to your preferences.
